For so many people, One-Shots have revolutionized the DIY mixing scene.
The one-shot recipe is someone else's recipe with all the flavouring ingredients combined in the correct proportions. It's a bit like a cake mix. A cake mix can be baked by adding milk and eggs, or a cake can be baked from scratch. The PG, VG, and Nic shots are your milk and eggs, and your one-shot is your cake mix. Mix them all together and shake it up! It's a tried and tested recipe without all the fuss, failure, and heartache.
Most one-shot concentrates have a recommended mixing percentage to get you started. Taste is subjective, so you may want to adjust the % to suit your preferences.
Mixing them is very easy. Let's say you want to mix a 60ml bottle of 3mg e-liquid. One-shot recommends mixing at 10%. Add 6ml (10% of 60ml) concentrate into the bottle, add 1 nic shot (3mg to your overall nicotine strength for each 18mg nic shot, so for 6mg you'd need 2 nic shots), then top up with PG and VG. Remember that the one-shot will count towards your overall PG ratio, and you will have to check the base of your nic shot as well. Other than a bloody good shake, you're done. It's important to let some e-liquids mature, especially custard, tobacco and bakery type flavors, but if it tastes great fresh, vape it, it's only going to get better!
